Teacher of the year video

Nice job Schipper!!
BYU football team stays in Michigan City, Indiana the night before
playing Notre Dame and puts on a fireside at the local branch.
Stephen sees someone he knew in High School.
He hasn't shrunk.  The other guy is just your average big football player.

Big one of write up

Thought I'd better post a big one of the write up so you can read it. The submitted write up said even more ... kids lip-syncing, dancing, etc.

More on Schipper's Award

Here are some pix of the program. I'll have Kacy post the video.

Schipper is TEACHER OF THE YEAR !!

Last night we attended the award ceremony for the Utah Teachers of the Year. Schipper, Jo, Mary, Bu, Jo's parents and moi - Marcelle. Lovely dinner, great dessert (we sent Mary home with a plateful of eclairs) and speakers. We are so proud of you Schipper. Here are two stories I heard recently: 1. Schipper forgot that he promised one kid he could be special one day and get an award. When the kid reminded him Schipper did not delay. He brought the kid up in front of everyone and talked about his special day; then presented him with the Invisible Special Award which was a glowing torch I think. The kid was so proud. He carried it back to his desk, carried it around with him all day, showed it off to everyone, warmed himself by the torch fire, etc. 2. Remember that tall metal thing in Bu's garage that you put inner tubes on and jump on? Schipper took it in (yea, it's out of the garage!) for one of his kids who just couldn't sit in one place. It is his special desk. His desk is inside it. He can move around, hang on it, swing on it, etc as long as he stays within it. The kid was ecstatic. Plus it was great for his proprioceptive needs. That means sensory needs for you people with perfect children. OK, here are some pix.

The Farewell Video

Yeah Elder Nyfeler!!  This is the last time we get to hear his voice for 2 years!

Elder Jacob Nyfeler is on his way - Look out New Zealand!

Hi Everyone! Today was Jacob's big day - entering the MTC. I went down and got to see him off, along with Bu and Maraika. It was great. That's from my point of view - I don't know if Jacob thought it was great but he will ... in time. Here are some pix and a video.

So long... Farewell!

hip hip hooray for Elder Nyfeler today!

Gabe bids farewell to his first-cousin once removed....

If anyone (Maraika?) has Elder Jacob Nyfelers address please post it!

September Pictures from the Carters

Some helpers while painting the playroom.  Camille painted those people.

Wil helped himself to some pasta.

Wilton helping make his bday cake.

The finished product.  Not sure who was more pleased with it, Wilton or Mom.

 The sand-dwellers.

And the wave-crashers.  Sibley's coming in for break; Sophia and Emmett are in the background, out getting pounded.  The waves have been so great this fall.

 Just for fun.

Neal built a little tree fort.  The kids spend hours up there.

I'm glad my daughter loves chocolate, and chose a divinely rich chocolate cake for her birthday.
