Fall at the Carters

Fall at the Carters

 Happy Birthday Sibley!
Just waiting around for big sister to get out of volleyball.
Beautiful fall mornings in my neighborhood.  Make for nice morning walks.

 Happy Birthday Wilton!
Look who learned to write his name, and where he practiced.  It was on his leg as well before the day was over.
Camille made me duct tape earrings!!  Lucky me.

Wiz and I found matching sweaters in a thrift shop.

View from our hike, up above our house.  I like where I live.
On top of the mountain, with the Herds

Biking the Virginia Creeper Trail.  It was cold that day, as you can tell.
 But so very beautiful.
 Halloween clean-up.
 Camille's fun party.
And birthday fun for Sophia too.

Topsail Revisited

Three years after our amazing reunion in North Carolina, three families convene for a mini- re-enactment.

Gallands planned their last big hurrah as a family before Margie's mission to Topsail Island.  And when Carters and MDC's found out how close they would be to us, how could we not jump on that band wagon??  We joined them for the weekend.  Die-hards that they are, they are still there, finishing out the week  lounging in the sun and being tumbled by waves.  We thought of all the rest of our family while there, and missed you.  We love Cousins!!!

There is a "Clawson" city in Utah.

And......there is a UFO landing and crash site!

Watauga Lake

The Carters spent a week at a nearby lake, Watauga Lake, in July.  The MDC's joined us for part of it.  Memories of Candlewood, Whaley, and Sammamish!

I can't believe he caught a fish.  I call his method "frantic fishing":  Oh, there's a fish, I'm gonna go throw this hook down at it.  Oh, there's one over there, I'll drop my hook on top of that one now, etc...
Beautiful early morning.

Flips off the boat. The water was such a beautiful color.
Sun, sun, sun.

"like  glass."  Made me want to waterski.

Sophia preparing for her driver's permit.  Tasting the power that will soon be hers.
She drove almost the whole day.

Cold mornings on the deck.

She loves her momma!  Actually, we did have a really fun week together.

You can just imagine what satisfying, scrumpious sustenance Megan is cooking up.

Bronwen was quite the swimmer.

Neal took his Christmas money from Bu and put it toward BB guns.
Just what she would have picked out, I'm sure.
