A blog for the Clawson family to post family news letters and keep connected. Here's to hoping the older generation can get this blogging thing down to help make keeping in touch easier.

Cousins raft through dinosaur land!
This last week I took a bunch of cousins over to Vernal, UT. We saw dinosaur bones - huge, real ones still partially buried in the mountain dirt. The next day we took a rafting trip down the Green River. Great fun. Cousins who went with Aunt Marcelle - Maraika, Meg, Whitney, Sydney, Mary, Sophia, Sibley and Emmett. Here are some pix!

Peter Flew!!
Saturday
had an exceptionally thrilling 20 minutes for Peter and Bill and I.
Pete's first words were "I want to be a jet fighter pilot" and almost every day for the last 2 years we have passed the glider field thinking "someday soon". Finally, on Saturday,
he had his first glider flying lesson and piloted the whole flight--with a little help from the instructor. Awesome, awesome, blessed day.
That's his cute little head in the cockpit. |

Place Your Bets
Jacob's mission application was submitted a week ago. So focus, look into your crystal balls or get in the shower and then place your bets. May the best jolly good fellow win! (isn't there a google-charts-better-way-to-enter-your-vote kind of thing? if you remind me where, I'll set it up).<br>My guess is Salt Lake City -- Hearing Impaired.

Memorial Day Bike Ride
Amid the many things happening when summer starts (bike rides, camping trips, etc) I found that I had too many things to write about on my own blog, so since the Memorial Day bike ride has been a Clawson -family-in-provo tradition, I will blog about it here, :-D
We started our bike ride at that wonderful park just south west of the Riverwoods
Last year it hailed durring our ride. This year it had snowed the night before, but only high in the mountains. It made for some very pretty snow-capped mountains
WE MADE IT!!
Mary rode her low rider trike down the canyon for a few miles, then we continued down to the Riverwoods and done!
Also, we had a barbecue at the end of the day, thanks to Bjorn's insistance that we could have memorial day without a barbecue. YUMM!
